With his 5th String Quartet, Op. 83 in A major, we have just continued the recording of the five string quartets and two string quintets by Friedrich Gernsheim (*1839 Worms, †1916 Berlin) for cpo. The second CD will also feature his String Quintet Op. 89 in E flat major, which we recorded in February 2020 together with Alexander Hülshoff, violoncello. Gernsheim String Quartets Vol. 1 is already available in stores and has received excellent reviews.
