The four musicians from Munich
“The four musicians from Munich” is a family concert presented to the young audience with a lot of enthusiasm by the Spanish conductor Carlos Dominguez-Nieto and the Diogenes Quartet.
Loosely based on the Brothers Grimm, the story is about the donkey, the dog, the cat and the rooster making their way to Munich to seek their fortune. Joseph Haydn’s music accompanies this old fairy tale and confers a new face to it. The four animals bring the string quartet and the “supreme discipline” of chamber music alive in the children’s eyes and heads.
Carlos Dominguez-Nieto and the Diogenes Quartet are connected by their longtime cooperation and proved experience with children’s concerts. Their aim is to bring the concert audience of tomorrow close to the world of music in a playful way, yet preserving a highly artistic level.
